Frequently Asked Questions

Of all the conditions we handle in our office, the following are by far the most common. Luckily, we specialize in treating such conditions with the type of chiropractic care that provides much sought-after relief to our patients. Below you will find some information on the most treated conditions:

How many adults suffer with chronic pain?

It is estimated that chronic pain affects 47 percent of U.S. adults. A study from Gallup-Healthway's shows that 31 percent of U.S. adults have some sort of painful neck or back condition. If you suffer from any of the conditions listed below, or any other type of chronic pain, there is no need to suffer any longer in silence. Let us treat the source of your pain conveniently in our office.

Can adjustments help neck pain?

Many of our everyday activities can contribute to neck pain. Anything from poor posture to the slightest injury or stress can cause that all too familiar ache at the top of your spine or base of your head. Often, simple adjustments to your neck's vertebrae can help ease or even eliminate this irritating pain in your neck.

What can I do for lower back pain?

The part of our body that allows us to have such capacity for mobility is also the part that is most susceptible to injury and pain. Treatment can seem elusive as recurrence is common. A chiropractic treatment involves simply readjusting the lower lumbar vertebrae and pelvis, which helps give you back your normal position of your bones and joints.

What causes my headaches?

Almost everyone has experienced a headache at some point. But severe tension or sinus headaches, or chronic migraines are not only excruciating, they can rob you of your quality of life. Depending on the type of headache the patient has, the chiropractic approach is to manipulate the upper two cervical vertebrae, as well as make other pinpointed adjustments to the spine. We also employ Trigger Point Therapy to work on the knotted muscles (trigger points) that may affect your headaches.

Can you manipulate a whiplash injury?

Whiplash is injury to the neck, caused by an abrupt jerking motion of the head. In most cases, injuries are too soft tissues such as disks and ligaments. Our treatment utilizes a combination of spinal manipulation and soft tissue rehabilitation.

What is sciatica?

Sciatica is a common type of pain affecting the large nerve that runs from the lower back down the back of each leg. It usually affects only one side of the lower body, but the pain can range from a mere irritation to severely debilitating.

I visited Dr. Winkler as I had a chronic wrist condition that was limiting my ability to work out with weights and swim. I was delighted to hear that my x-rays could be done on site and much less expensively than visiting a hospital or radiology center. After a few visits I noticed that, not only did my wrist feel better but that mentally my mind was much clearer. Some time later I heard Dr Winkler speak on the benefits of chiropractic care and how it helps prevent disease. He demonstrated with a spine just how many problems could result from misalignment and subluxations. My particular insurance did not cover chiropractic treatments but the cost of treatments were incredibly reasonable. My wrist is better but I still choose to go once a month for a treatment. I am 57 years old and pretty athletic so I want to maintain my body in optimum health so that I can be active and comfortable for many more years. The staff at his office are incredible. Samantha the front office manager is so friendly and helpful. She always makes me a great cup of coffee when I have an appointment. I have been to chiropractors in the past when I lived in Pennsylvania but Dr Winkler and his staff by far give the best service.
